For what it’s worth, I see a clear but unverifiable link between the Tibet “protests,” the death spiral of the dollar, the sudden “food crisis” and the three aircraft carrier battle groups off the coast of Taiwan - http://www.chinapost.com.tw/editorial/taiwan%20issues/2008/04/22/152983/What-are.htm. The gentlemen who move the finger puppet we refer to as the President seem to be pissed off at our favored nation trading partner / loan shark and the hammer is being dropped ever so subtly, to everyone but the Chinese.

As you mentioned in a recent note, the Chinese, being masters of intimidation, don’t favor being on the business end of such implements but they are getting it none the less.

For instance, China destroyed the culture of Tibet in order to rape off the forests and natural resources (mucho precious techno minerals being harvested) and the Tibetans are rightfully sore to the bone, but the current “protests” began in Langley.

Ditto with food. Yes Australia is facing an unprecedented drought, etc, but why the “sudden” skyrocketing prices? Perhaps there is a world food corollary to the President’s PPT which is the only life support keeping the stock market alive.

Then there’s the dollar that gentle Ben doesn’t seem to mind watching circle down the toilet bowl, but doesn’t that hurt our primary lenders who are holding all those Federal Reserve notes that have lost 20% of their value in the last year. Seems like it would hurt their feelings.

Okay, I’m wandering off the reservation myself now, but I believe Beijing is being given a message about who’s the Boss. Maybe the Boss is going to get an unexpected lesson. We’ll see.
