Republican Donald Trump will be spending $25 million in Democratic-leaning and battleground states heading into the final week before the Nov. 8 presidential election, CNBC reports.

The ad buys are in states that once appeared unwinnable for the GOP nominee, but Trump has seen some poll numbers swinging his direction in the past few days.

The targeted states include some where Democrat Hillary Clinton has held leads: Colorado, Maine, Michigan, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Virginia. Others include the battlegrounds of Florida, Iowa, North Carolina and Ohio, where Trump either leads or the races are tighter.

The Trump campaign said in a written statement that it believes Florida and Ohio are "decisively turning" toward the GOP and that there is "strong growth" in North Carolina.

"The data clearly shows that Mr. Trump's message is reaching voters and we are expanding the map," campaign Digital Director Brad Parscale said in the press release, which noted that Clinton's campaign also has restarted ad buys in Wisconsin and Colorado in recent days, showing the Democrats' own "nervousness about key battleground states."
