House may vote to remove Obama’s IRS commissioner amid illegal targeting, aiding of illegal aliens.

After years of corruption and abusive liberal power grabs, House Republicans may finally begin impeachment proceedings…

… against IRS Commissioner John Koskinen.

It’s a start.

The House Judiciary Committee announced Friday they would convene a pair of hearings to investigate the misconduct of Koskinen and the IRS.

The move comes after the agency was investigated for illegally targeting conservatives with audits, intrusive questioning, and improper delays of approval for Tea Party groups.

It also comes weeks after Koskinen admitted in a congressional hearing that, although the IRS had discovered thousands of cases of identity theft by illegal aliens, they refused to stop the theft or notify law enforcement because they believed it would result in increased tax revenues.

The IRS also destroyed emails and computer hard drives when they were subpoenaed by House investigators.

And Koskinen is accused of lying to Congress and refusing to comply with subpoenas.

“The fact that officials at the IRS wielded their power to target certain Americans for their political views is both outrageous and contrary to our nation’s values,” said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte.

“Despite repeated congressional efforts to get to the bottom of this matter, Obama Administration officials, including the IRS Commissioner, have consistently undermined the investigation. Over the coming weeks, the House Judiciary Committee will closely examine Commissioner Koskinen’s misconduct and the implications of his actions,” Goodlatte continued.

The first hearing by the Judiciary Committee will review the investigation led by the Oversight Committee regarding the misconduct of the IRS and Koskinen.

The Judiciary Committee alleges that, “Koskinen failed to comply with a congressional subpoena which resulted in destruction of key evidence, made false statements during his sworn congressional testimony, and did not notify Congress that Lois Lerner’s emails were missing.”

The second hearing will feature an array of witnesses and experts testifying on the wide range of corruption.

It is expected the hearings will lay out the case for impeachment proceedings against Koskinen, as well as his removal from office.

While a fish may rot from the head and not the tail, anything that removes the stench of liberal corruption is a step in the right direction.
