Typhoon Vongfong Forecast: Another Japan Threat This Weekend?

Typhoon Vongfong has left Guam and the northern Mariana Islands behind and is poised to intensify, just as Typhoon Phanfone did last week

As of midnight local time Tuesday, the eye of Vongfong was about 1000 miles southeast of Kadena Air Base on Okinawa, speeding to the west-northwest at 24 mph. Maximum sustained winds were estimated at 105 mph, the equivalent of a Category 2 hurricane.
