WEATHER: Heads Up

March 15, 2012

Conditions are coming together for a major severe weather outbreak which will affect Texas, Oklahoma and the Great Plains this coming Monday and Tuesday.  Although the storm is still five days off, it would be a good idea to review weather safety rules and, if you live in the areas likely to be affected, to get a few days' supplies of water, food, etc.  just in case you're in one of the areas likely to be affected by the outbreak.

The favored areas are:  Texas north of IH-10; Oklahoma; Kansas; Nebraska, North and South Dakota, southwestern Minnesota, Iowa, the western half of Missouri and Arkansas, and northwestern Louisiana.  The likely weather includes severe thunderstorms, very large hail, damaging wind and several long-tracked and damaging  tornadoes.

If you know people in these areas, let them know about the upcoming severe weather event.
