Latest Northeastern Snowfall Forecast

Smaller Font Larger Font RSS 2.0

The full fury of this snowstorm will be spent across northeastern Pennsylvania northward through central New York. If I could get to a place to watch the storm, it would have to be up around Binghamton. That's right in the core of where I believe the storm will go full bore. That means wind gusts to 50 miles per hour and 1 to 2 inches of snow per hour. Pretty cool, eh? Well, at least the kids will think so when they don't have to go to school Friday.

The farther south and west you go, the less intense the snowfall will be. One exception will be across the high mountains of southwestern Pennsylvania and West Virginia, where the up-slope effect can produce up to a foot of new snow.

Of course, all us snow-mongers here at AccuWeather.com will have to be content to watch this storm from a distance. The sun was actually shinning through the clouds here in central Pennsylvania today, and we'll only get a few inches of snow during the night.
