Snowstorms blanket Europe, US

Europe and the eastern United States have been blanketed in heavy snow ahead of Christmas, causing transport chaos and killing at least 90 people in Europe.
Temperatures dropped to as low as -36 degrees celsius in parts of Germany with more than 50cm of snow recorded all over Europe.
Flights and train cancellations have left tens of thousands stranded all over Europe.
The United States wasn't spared from winter weather either, with Washington DC bombarded with heavy snow in the last few days.
