The link above will take you to Gulf of Mexico weather buoys that continually broadcast wind speed, wave height, water temperature, etc.

I\'m looking at this and seeing wind reports in the vicinity of Ike with speeds of 44mph, 51mph, and less.

Now, who am I supposed to believe? The weatherman or my lying eyes? :-)

I plead guilty to not knowing much about the weather information gathering system, and if I\'m reading this wrong then you know why.

But it sure looks like Ike is a non-event to me.
