According to rigidly censored official reports about burning Russian nuclear-powered strategic submarine cruiser "Yekaterinburg" # 667BDRM in special dock in the special military town of Roslyakovo on December 29, the submarine was a part of the 31st Red Banner Division the 12th submarine squadron of the Russian Northern Fleet. The registration port was Yagelnaya Bukhta. The Russians say that they do not know the cause of fire. The Russians carefully conceal, as always, and deny all data about the amount of radioactivity, leaked into the atmosphere by strong smoke. The fire started at 04:20 pm local time.

Local residents report on the release of radiation, since the Russians are conducting evacuation of the population. The other residents of Roslyakovo fled by their own means to the nearby large Russian port of Murmansk. The sailors affected by radiation are taken to intensive care. Military aircraft landed at a nearby huge Russian navy base in Severomorsk. Independent observers assume that they will transport the victims of radiation injuries to a special clinic in Moscow where the victims of Chernobyl were treated and quickly died soon.

The official news agencies reported about at least 9 victims of the fire who had been delivers to the Severomorsk Military Hospital.

Panic reigns in Murmansk because of a suspected release of radioactive wastes.

"There is panic here because of Roslyakovo and the submarine. This is the end of us", writes a resident of Murmansk, Vitaly Shurupov.

"Evacuation has been declared. We've got ourselves pretty well f..cked-up. No more details...", write the locals.

@allaud living nearby wrote on Twitter:" I wanted to go to pick up my father from Roslyakovo, but the traffic police closed the road there. On the radio, they reported the evacuation scheme via Severomorsk-3.

@GallahRobak says: "Evacuation has not yet started. My mom's friend got a call from MOE. If we cannot to extinguish the fire, then the boat will be ready to dive to fight the fire ".

@allaud: "Info from the docks. There is sh..t in the news - the fire was not extinguished".

19.56. At the moment, "almost nothing is visible, it is dark already. It is known that two helicopters, a boat and 11 fire brigades are involved in extinguishing the fire in the submarine. No information has yet been reported about the victims".

20/06 Eugene Nikiforov. "There appeared a smoke like a pillar!!! Right now we're going to take a closer look ... Walk 5 minutes!!

20.10 Official media outlets are covering up the scale of the fire on the submarine "Yekaterinburg", which still continues to burn! As reported by the fire brigade,: "an area of 150 squares meters is burning, resuscitation of the victims is operating on-site, 15 trunks are used for cooling".

It is also reported that Moscow TV channels were broadcasting false information about an alleged burning of only a wooden construction around the submarine. A strong smoke is in the fire zone.

A Russian journalist Varfolomeyev meanwhile reported:

"Murmansk VKontakte group: The area of fire on a nuclear submarine in Roslyakovo has increased, there are victims. This is reported by firefighters, and people involved in monitoring the fire.

The radio is deaf, there arrived soldiers and they either banned the radio on the air or changed the frequency, there remains a hope for the firefighter guys on the spot. The authorities, working there, do not answer the phone, the fire area has increased. They allege there are no victims, but it is , lie!

The fire is inside the submarine and not on its hull!".

It is impossible to extinguish the fire. "Have you ever tried to extinguish burning car tires? Well, the lightweight material which covers the submarine hull is very similar to tires as far as combustibility is concerned", points out a specialist.

"The burned-down nuclear submarine was a navy component of the Russian strategic nuclear forces", Russian blogger write.

Media outlets are recalling that fragments of another Russian nuclear submarine, Kursk, which sank in 2000, were brought exactly to Roslyakovo. Unofficially, the Russians accused the US of deliberately sinking Kursk by an American submarine.

"Putin emerged from the tragedy of the nuclear submarine Kursk. Now another nuclear submarine Yekaterinburg is burning in Roslyakovo. Is it a full circle?, ask the Russians .

According to the latest information, the eliminating the fire on the nuclear submarine failed. The military decided to dive it partly, on the dock where the fire. They did it on the submarine bow. where the fire is burning. But another fire started in the middle of submarine.

The Russian military officially acknowledged that the burning submarine is equipped with 9 active nuclear torpedoes and at least 16 nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles. The submarine is huge. The nuclear missiles are located at its stern.
