Boles Fire threatening over 1,000 homes

A wildfire near Weed, Calif. has damaged or destroyed 75 structures and is causing evacuations of the communities of Weed, Lake Shastina and Carrick Monday according to CAL FIRE. The Roseburg Mill, Weed High School and Weed Elementary School have also been evacuated.

 

  

 

The fire has forced more than a 1,000 people to evacuate and is threatening over 1,000 homes says CAL FIRE.

 

The California Highway Patrol is instituting an emergency road closure of Interstate 5 near Weed. I-5 northbound is closed south of Weed and I-5 southbound is closed north of Weed.

 

According to CAL FIRE flames have destroyed homes in the Angel Valley area.

 

The fire has burned 200 acres and is 0 percent contained.

 

According to a spokesperson with Pacific Power the fire has left 7,679 customers in Mt. Shasta and Weed with out electricity.
