RADIATION WATCH/CONCERN FOR TALLAHASSE, FL

According to the Nuclear Emergency Tracking Center (www.NETC.com)
radiation levels in Tallahassee, FL have become significantly elevated
this afternoon, and a "Watch" is issued.
As of 12:45 PM EST today, the background radiation level has risen
sharply from its 3-month average of 253 Counts-Per-Minute (CPM) to a new
record-high of 402 CPM. This involves the level
of Gamma Radiation in the range of 600-800keV. Gamma radiation is the
most dangerous type of radiation.
Persons in and around Tallahassee, FL should be mindful that this is
happening and monitor the situation to decide if going outside or
keeping the windows of homes open is a good idea.
While this level of radiation is not deadly or even dangerous, the
sudden dramatic rise in background radiation is a concern.
