Thanks VE, I am fine now but didn't really walk until I was six years old. One reason I love to walk and exercise because I am so grateful that I can.
I know that many organizations have different levels of salaries and funding, etc. that are beyond my scope of knowledge so I will not analyze each of them and trust others to do so for me. I can say that the comment that the March of Dimes was named because only a dime of every dolar goes to help others is despicable to say as it was founded by President Roosevelt in 1938 to help combat the epidemic of polio.
We have certain charities that we have supported for years (partners, etc. or whatever the charities chooses to call ongoing donations) and then I carefully watch throughout the year various segments to find others. For very personal reasons, each year we always have to find a way to help a solider - living or deceased. It is a Christmas present for someone we love dearly. There are so many out there doing wonderful things for others, one arranges to have a live bugler at the burial of every soldier (funds have been cut back to where many were only getting a recording played), others build homes for those returning with serious injuries (supported one locally that had a ribbon cutting yesterday for a triple amputee), lots and lots of people needing what little help we can offer.
Threads like this with bogus information hurt so many as we all know once it is read on the internet it becomes true.
Thank you for your kind wishes, my very best holiday wishes to you and yours.
