ACTION ALERT Tell House Leadership: We Need a Farm Bill

On October 1, laws governing our nation's food and agriculture policies expired. Congress failed to pass a new Farm Bill to renew and reform these programs. This inaction creates uncertainty for farmers, and leaves crucial programs that invest in healthy food and healthy farming practices in limbo without set funding.
The good news is that there is a clear pathway ahead to pass the Farm Bill. The Senate and the House have already voted on and passed their versions of the Farm Bill—the next step is to resolve the differences between the two bills. The Senate has named their negotiators, but the House leadership has yet to do so, thereby continuing to hold up the entire Farm Bill process.
Passing a Farm Bill is critical to fund key programs that expand access to healthy foods, and encourage farmers to adopt healthy farming practices.
