(NaturalNews) The pop song "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen has smashed top 40 music records over the last several months, and her music video has racked up 150 million views on YouTube alone (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWNaR-rxAic). "Call Me Maybe" is a simple yet unmistakable tune that you just can't shake after hearing it.

The wild popularity of the original song has spurned hilarious parodies. Two days ago, Sesame Street released their Cookie Monster version of the song called "Share It Maybe." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qTIGg3I5y8)

Today, Mike Adams of NaturalNews.com -- a pop culture comedy musician previously featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal -- has released his parody rendition of the song with a new music video called, "Dumb and Lazy."

About Dumb and Lazy

"Dumb and Lazy is a song about how America devolved from a nation of hard-working immigrants into a population of spineless jellyfish boot-lickers," explains Adams. Taking aim at lazy, pathetic, Americans who have abandoned the core values of hard work and personal responsibility, "Dumb and Lazy" depicts images of "sheeple" who sleep until 3 p.m., smoke pot all day, refuse to take a stand against tyranny and who are incapable of understanding the unprecedented national debt and loss of liberties now afflicting Americans.

"This song dares to depict the alarming levels of apathy and entitlement worship that now infect America's rapidly devolving culture," says Adams, who is well known for his edgy songs about Wall Street bailouts ("I Want My Bailout Money"), the molestation of travelers by the TSA ("Don't Touch My Junk!") and the medical lobotomization of children ("Vaccine Zombie"). His songs, all of which are memorable examples of free speech satire, are available at:

"No dumb and lazy people were harmed in the making of our music video," exclaims Adams, who also points out that by "dumb" he means cognitively stupid, not someone who innocently suffers a speech disability. "We are using the word in its street jargon context."

The song is intended to inspire "dumb and lazy" people to get off their asses and do something with their lives that contributes to the betterment of society, explains Adams. "We want to encourage people to be informed and proactive, but a song entitled 'Informed and Proactive' didn't sound right, so we went with 'Dumb and Lazy' to depict the contrast."

Adams blames television, pop culture idiocy, a dumbed-down education system and even nutritionally-depleted processed foods for the sharp drop in intelligence across America over the last generation. "America has no future if its high school graduates can't understand the difference between the federal budget deficit and the national debt," he explains. He adds that America is becoming the "Idiocracy" depicted in the Mike Judge movie by the same name.

"In Idiocracy, the world is populated by morons and ruled by evil corporations that manipulate consumers into buying industrial poisons. The justice system has devolved into comedy theater and the TV news is so dumbed-down that even the bimbos reading the cable news teleprompters have no clue what they're talking about."

In other words, it depicts modern-day America.

Turning America around for the better

Adams is an optimist, however. "I believe dumb and lazy Americans will suddenly become more intelligent if we can pass a federal law that lowers public school test score standards," he says. "On paper, we could regain our leadership as the most academically advanced nation in the world!"

Note for those who take this too seriously: Both the song and this article are presented tongue-in-cheek for comedic porpoises. Adams actually believes America is a strong nation of resilient, innovative liberty lovers who have the capacity to restore freedom, eliminate banker control and regain economic abundance if the bozos in Washington would just get out of the way...
