A new distribution model has hit Hollywood, and it proves to be a game changer.  Recently a brand new film made its world wide premier on YouTube.  Its free to the public and available any time, all over the world.  So far if has been seen in over 30 countries from America to Viet Nam.  And no one anywhere is making any money.

The real problem is that the film is better than most of the stuff Hollywood has to offer.  When you compare 12 dollars plus another 50 for soda and popcorn, with free,  you begin to see the  problem.  Most films coming out of Hollywood defy explanation, as to how they ever got made.  Meanwhile, talented filmmakers with a vision and a message, are shut out.  In fact those are the people Hollywood avoids the most.  But now thanks to the internet and advances in filmmaking technology.  Hollywood is rapidly becoming obsolete.  Now, with the release of “EL COYOTE-The Last Movie (2012)”   Hollywood’s final act is all the more near.

EL COYOTE The Last Movie is a simple but strong film.  Loosely based on the film, Shane,  El Coyote is a wondering satanic serial killer in the mountains of northern Mexico.  He finds himself in one of the many small towns in Mexico today, that has been over run by drug cartels.  The people of the town are essentially slaves to the corrupt sheriff, who works for the local cartel.

The sheriff and his men ambush El Coyote, they shoot him up and leave him for dead.  But he is saved by a local kid and his mom.  his thirst for vengeance and his gratitude for the help he received lead him to realize he can use his killing powers to help people.  he precedes to terrorize the sheriff and his men, leading up to a dramatic shootout.

Sadly, members of a real drug cartel rob the production company before the film was finished.  In fact, most of the cast and crew are murdered while the cameras are rolling.  In a controversial move the filmmakers decided to release the film with the graphic final scene.  The say this is to draw attention to the deadly crisis going on in Mexico today.  And to force a discussion of what to do about it.  Furthermore they say it just wouldn’t be right to abandon the film that all those people gave their heart and souls to, and eventually their lives.  ”we wont let the film die in spite of the horrors it has endured.”, said director Sergio Coyote.

This is exactly the sort of film people should be seeing.  And it is exactly the sort of film Hollywood would never touch.  Hopefully, it wont be long until Hollywood wont matter.
