the other over about 20 feet. Hooked to each box was a telephone over which we were able to talk to each other on the other end with the signal being sent down that very thin light beam. BUT -- they had a rather large problem with this new invention at the time. It was the fact that they hadn't figured out as yet how to BEND that very fine light beam around the corner, or anywhere else. Well -- needless to say -- they finally found out how to bend it and look where we are now. Where will we really be in another 5 or 10 years???
