Mysterious $500 Cash Handouts As Strangers Spread Joy (New Zealand).

Both women said there was nothing threatening about the couple but said they still felt a little scared by the incident. But they decided to open the envelope to find out what was in it.
"There was a purple card in the envelope and inside the card there was $500 - we couldn't believe it," said 18-year-old Rose.
But that wasn't all. Inside the card was written: "Anarchy (in symbol form) is love of freedom." The note appears to be signed by "Sal and Glenn".
Both Steph and Rose said they had never seen the couple before but described them as "hippyish-looking" and aged between 30-40.
They said the woman was wearing a long flower-pattern dress and had long black hair.
The pair said they had no idea why they were given the money. They did wonder if a good act that saw them call an ambulance for a man in Memorial Park last week might have had something to do with it.
"We've never done anything like that before so maybe it's karma," Steph said.
Both women said they did not know what they would do with the money but said they would definitely be splitting it between them if they keep it.
For now they said they were still trying get over the fact the whole incident had occurred.
But they weren't the only ones.
Shortly after 1pm yesterday 29-year-old Rangi Tamati was strolling along Grey St when he too was approached by a man he described as extremely happy.
"He said 'hey buddy this is for you, you are going to like what's inside. This is from us to you'," Mr Tamati recounted. "He seemed to be on cloud nine."
It was then Mr Tamati noticed a young woman who he said also looked very happy. He said they seemed to be a couple and thought the pair were in their 30s.
After receiving the envelope Mr Tamati continued his walk and it wasn't until 15 minutes later that he opened it.
He was shocked to find there was $500 in $50 notes contained inside a card which had the words: "Anarchy, peace, freedom and love" written inside.
Mr Tamati, who works at Minuteman, said he was unsure what he was going to do with the cash and had no idea why the couple was giving money away. "It was very, very bizarre. They were by a lotto shop so maybe they won it big and decided to give some money away. I don't know, I just really want to say thanks."
