Amendment failed to meet 1982 congressional deadline December 28, 2019 The Equal Rights Amendment was proposed in the 1970s with the purported intent of making men and women "equal." It failed to meet a 1982 deadline set by Congress to gain the approval of 38 states. But some lawmakers insist it isn't dead yet. In Virginia, for example, a legislative panel voted a year ago to support the idea that Congress can vote to "remove" a deadline for the failed ERA. Now a lawsuit has been filed to put an end to such claims.

SELLOUTS: The EPA’s pesticide approval office is funded by pesticide manufacturers and relies on their submitted data as “science”

7-1-18 The Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Pesticide Programs is supposed to be responsible for producing independent analyses of pesticides. But is that what they really do? Like other federal agencies (à la the FDA), the Office of Pesticides does no actual studies or research of their own; instead, they review data provided to them by pesticide manufacturers. And to make matters worse, the Office received a staggering 30 percent of its funding from the pesticide industry in 2016. So not only is the Office relying on research hand-picked for them by pesticide-makers, the industry is literally paying them to conduct their “reviews.” Once again, it seems that the “independent science” from the government is nothing more than illusion.

6-11-18 Springwatch presenter, Chris Packham is warning Great Britain of an “ecological apocalypse.” On this year’s Springwatch, Packham warns that we are presiding over “an ecological apocalypse” and Britain is increasingly becoming “a green and unpleasant land.” According to The Guardian, Packham, who is a naturalist and broadcaster, is urging people to join him next month on a10-day “bioblitz.”This would involve visiting road verges, farmland, parks, allotments, and community nature reserves across the country to record what wildlife remains. The wildlife to be looked at would range from butterflies to bryophytes, linnets to lichens.

3-1-18 The world’s first plastic-free supermarket aisle debuted in Amsterdam on Wednesday. Shoppers at the Jan Pieter Heijestraat branch of Dutch supermarket chain Ekoplaza will have roughly 700 plastic-free products to choose from, including meat, rice, sauces, dairy, chocolate, cereals, yogurt, snacks, fresh fruit and vegetables. Instead of plastic, items are packed in compostable materials or glass, metal and cardboard. “Plastic-free aisles are an important stepping stone to a brighter future for food and drink,” Ekoplaza chief executive, Erik Does, said in a statement. “We know that our customers are sick to death of products laden in layer after layer of thick plastic packaging.

4-2 8-17 WASHINGTON – The Heritage Foundation, which, under the leadership of former Sen. Jim DeMint, became a strongly conservative think tank that embraced the Trump revolution and anti-establishment Republicanism, just threw it in reverse. DeMint is out. Former president Ed Fuelner, 75, who earlier retired, is back. “This is a big setback for real, vibrant, anti-establishment, grass-roots conservatism,” said one Heritage insider.
